During the UFC 202 conference call two weeks ago, featherweight champion Conor McGregor was asked whether he had thought about a possible career in WWE due to his often sports entertainment centric promos. While admitting he has thought about such a possibility, the brash Irishman was against the idea.
“I have thought about it,” McGregor said on the call. “For the most part, I think these guys are (expletives), to be honest. They’re messed up (expletives) if you ask me. Fair play to Brock (Lesnar); he got in and fought, but at the end of the day, he was juiced up to the (expletive) eyeballs. How can I respect that? The other guy (CM Punk) hasn’t fought yet, so I don’t know about him yet.”
After the call, McGregor sent out a late night message on Twitter doubling down on his statement the previous day.
I didn't mean no disrespect to the @wwe fans. What I meant to say was that I'd slap the head off your entire roster. And twice on Sunday's.

The tweet has set off responses from WWE talent like Ric Flair, Sheamus, Seth Rollins and Randy Orton expressing their disdain for the comments.
Another person who is apart of the WWE roster decided he had enough of McGregor's talk.
"Conor McGregor is what 5 ft. 7 in. tall?," WWE Hall of Famer and PPV pre-show analyst Booker T told Fightful.com. "I’m 6 ft. 3 in. tall and I’m 250 lbs. I would beat up Conor McGregor any day of the week. I don’t care. I’m serious. I don’t care how much karate he knows. That little guy would get beat up. A lot of the guys in WWE would beat him up too, you know what I mean? I think guys like that just like to do what they do."
While the five-time WCW world heavyweight champion and former world heavyweight champion was proud of his co-workers stepping up and defending themselves, he really didn't think it was a great idea for any of them to say respond to McGregor.
"I really don’t even think WWE wrestlers or anybody else on our staff should have even responded to Conor McGregor," Booker T said.
McGregor does have a fight coming up at UFC 202 when he rematches Nate Diaz in the main event of the show. Diaz on 11 days notice, submitted the SBG trained fighter in the second round. The former Smackdown commentator thinks McGregor shouldn't be so worried about making comments about WWE stars and should be focused on who he will be stepping into the octagon against at UFC 202. He feels McGregor may be trying to parlay all of this into a future with the biggest pro wrestling company in the world. And if McGregor loses again Diaz, the king of the spinaroonie feels his co-workers will respond to McGregor.
"Conor McGregor is a great fighter, take nothing away from him, Booker T said. He’s got a fight coming up against Nate Diaz. Nate Diaz is the guy he needs to be thinking about. Nate Diaz is the guy who went out there and literally destroyed him.
"Conor McGregor might be trying to get a contract with WWE because he knows if he loses this fight, he’s going to have egg all over his face once Nate Diaz goes out there. And the thing is, if Nate Diaz gets him on the ground, it’s not even going to be a contest once that happens. If it goes past two rounds, Nate Diaz wins the fight everytime. He needs to think about his fight coming up because trust me, if he loses, all those guys are going to be responding to him again, trust me."
UFC 202 takes place on Saturday night from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas with the main card beginning at 10 p.m. ET on pay-per-view.
