What's Next For Beth Phoenix Following Official WWE Departure

A WWE legend is done with the company.

On July 26, PWInsider reported that Beth Phoenix is no longer under WWE contract. WWE sources confirmed this with Fightful Select.

Beth last wrestled in February 2023, and has only worked a couple of matches in the last two and a half years, both teaming with Edge/Adam Copeland

Those that we've spoken to say that the 43-year old Phoenix is in amazing condition and that she could likely compete again if she chooses. The subject of her possibly appearing for AEW has been broached backstage, but we haven't heard definitively if the two sides have had conversations. While she couldn't use the Phoenix name, Beth is her legit first name, so she could go by Beth Copeland.

While we've not heard of any imminent plans, one AEW source indicated that if she were to come in, it would likely be when her husband Adam Copeland returns from injury. Beth had been backstage at multiple AEW shows.

Upon news of her being a free agent, a couple of indie promoters also contacted Fightful asking if she was accepting bookings, so there's outside interest if she wants it.
