Jack Perry To Darby Allin: It Seems Like Maybe The Universe Is Calling The Elite To Finish You Off

The Elite say they'll finish what the bus started.

Darby Allin made his surprise return on the May 15 episode of AEW Dynamite, as he was revealed as Eddie Kingston's replacement in the Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW Double or Nothing. He will team up with Bryan Danielson, Dax Harwood, and Cash Wheeler to face The Elite (Matthew Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, Kazuchika Okada, and Jack Perry). Allin's return came after he suffered a broken foot on March 13, and he was hit by a bus on April 27.

In a digital exclusive, The Elite discussed Allin's return.

Matthew Jackson: Can you believe that?

Nicholas Jackson: What the hell was that? Darby Allin? The last time we saw your ass, we retired Sting. Do you really want to deal with us again?

NJ: We keep picking these guys off one by one, and they’re like cockroaches. Eddie Kingston goes bye-bye, but then another guy, Darby Allin, steps up to the plate. What is your freaking problem?

Jack Perry: Honestly, I was wondering who was gonna be stupid enough to fill in for Eddie Kingston. It really shouldn’t be a surprise at all that it was Darby Allin. You know, Darby, the universe doesn’t seem to like you too much these days. You break your foot, you get hit by a bus. Now, you’re in Anarchy in the Arena. It seems to me like maybe the universe is calling us to finish you off.

NJ: [Laughs] Hey, Mount Everest couldn’t do it, but guess who can? The Elite.

Matthew Jackson then took issue with the way their opponents were named Team AEW. He noted that The Elite was actually Team AEW, as they invented the company.

MJ: You know what makes me sick is, they say that you’re Team AEW. Team AEW? are you kidding me? We invented AEW. I came up with the name in a group chat. Remember that, Tony [Khan]? Team AEW? [The Elite] is Team AEW. You’re looking at it. Team Elite. Team AEW. We’re trying to clean this damn place up, rid the toxicity, the poison that has been in this company for the last few months. Then what happens when we finally start to clean [it]? A guy like Darby Allin shows up.

JP: A poser.

MJ: Team AEW? That makes me sick.

Kazuchika Okada chimed in by saying that he would make it rain blood, and Matthew Jackson said that was very violent.

After AEW Dynamite, Darby Allin said that he was not 100%. Check out his comments here.
