Mercedes Mone Responds To Willow Nightingale, Cassidy Beats Beretta, Copeland Wins | AEW Fight Size

Here is your fight size update following AEW Dynamite on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.

- Mercedes Mone discussed her upcoming match against TBS Champion Willow Nightingale. She said she thrived in the spotlight. Mone stated that she was back, and she was on a new level.

- Orange Cassidy faced Trent Beretta. They brawled into the crowd. Don Callis came out during the match. Beretta and Cassidy both unhooked turnbuckles. Cassidy sent Trent into one and pinned him. Trent Beretta attacked Orange Cassidy after their match. Beretta hit Cassidy with a piledriver onto the steel steps. Don Callis broke up the fight, as did Kris Statlander.

- Adam Copeland defended the TNT Championship against Brody King in a No Disqualification match. They battled it out, and King got busted open. Copeland hit a Spear through a table. He hit another Spear for the win.

- AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland came face to face with Christian Cage and The Patriarchy. Cage vowed to take the title from Strickland. The Mogul Embassy arrived to give Strickland back-up. Strickland said Cage got to AEW by playing politics, but he worked hard to get to where he is. Swerve said that Cage would say “I quit” if he wound up in an uncomfortable position. Brian Cage and the Gates of Agony turned on Strickland. Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun slammed him through the broadcast table.

- Kenny Omega announced that The Elite would face Team AEW in an Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW Double or Nothing.

- Serena Deeb discussed her upcoming match against AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm. Storm interrupted and mocked Deeb. Storm said that she did not care about what Deeb had been through. Deeb dropped Storm with a shot to the face.

- Mariah May faced Harley Cameron. Saraya accompanied Cameron to the ring. Saraya interfered, and May dropped her with a shot at ringside. May won the match, and Saraya attacked her. Mina Shirakawa made the save.

- The Elite (The Young Bucks, Jack Perry, and Kazuchika Okada) responded to Kenny Omega. Matthew Jackson said he wished that Tony Khan got out of his own way. He said that Khan gave them no choice but to take him out. Likewise, he said that they had no choice but to take Omega out. FTR confronted The Elite. The final two members of Team AEW were revealed to be Eddie Kingston and Bryan Danielson. Team AEW took the fight to The Elite, and they brawled.

- Chris Jericho and Big Bill scored a dominant win.

- Chris Jericho cut a post-match promo and said he wished he could be on Dynamite for two hours straight. Jericho praised Big Bill and thanked Katsuyori Shibata for a great match. Tony Schiavone announced that HOOK would return next week.

- Brody King attacked TNT Champion Adam Copeland, and Kyle O’Reilly made the save. Copeland thanked Kyle O’Reilly for his help. O’Reilly asked for a shot at the title on AEW Collision, and Copeland gave it to him.

- PAC was asked about a potential return for Death Triangle. Jay White and Bullet Club Gold interrupted. White mocked PAC for his loss to Kazuchika Okada and noted that he knew how to get the job done.

- TBS Champion Willow Nightingale discussed her win against Skye Blue. She looked forward to her title match against Mercedes Mone.

- Malakai Black sent a message to Adam Copeland.

- Christian Cage shook hands with the Young Bucks, as it was evident that they were working together.

- Jay White faced Rocky Romero and scored the win. Bullet Club Gold attacked Rocky Romero, and PAC made the save.

- Samoa Joe trained and sent a message to the AEW roster.

- The Young Bucks pulled into Tony Khan’s parking spot.

- Dax Harwood will face Tommy Billington on the May 11 episode of AEW Collision.

- Mina Shirakawa commented on her appearance.
