Scorpio Sky says he is not a good guy or a bad guy, he is just looking out for number one.
Following his TNT Championship opportunity against Darby Allin on the March 10 episode of AEW Dynamite, Scorpio Sky showed a new side of himself by locking in a heel hook on the champion as a release for his frustration following the loss.
The next week, he would say on his podcast that he felt as though he was ahead for that entire match and if it were scored on points, he would be the current TNT Champion. Now, he once again returns to his podcast, wrestling with the week, to address his current moral alignment and whether or not he is a heel in the world of wrestling.
As has become customary among modern professional wrestlers, Scorpio does not subscribe to the philosophy that he is changing or that he is a bad guy, he says that people have different moods and everybody has multiple facets of their personality depending on their current standing in life.
“A lot of people I know what they're going to say they're going to say this is like a new me like, ‘Oh I like this new Sky,’ or, ‘I don't like this new Sky,’ but the reality is, it's not a new me. It's just a different side of me that the AEW audience may or may not have had a chance to see in the past. I think everyone has different personalities, people have different moods, and that doesn't mean that I'm changing or being anything else. I’ve said it on the show before, it's cool to be humble but sometimes, you have to let people know. I am actually very tired of people pretending like I'm not one of the best and so sometimes, I’ve got to stand up and say it myself. That doesn't mean I'm not going to still be laughing and smiling, you see a lot of that on the show, and having a good time. Then sometimes, I am going to be pissed off and I'm going to hurt people and that's just how life is, you know, we're all different, we're all human, and that's how -- it is what it is.”
Sky, who insists that he is not changing, won't be getting the next shot at Darby Allin and the TNT Championship. That honor will go to John Silver on the next episode of AEW Dynamite. You can check out the full card thus far at this link.
