CM Punk: The Crowd Was So Loud When I Returned To WWE That All I Heard Was White Noise; I Thought I Was Having A Stroke

CM Punk says the crowd in Chicago at the Allstate Arena was so loud when he returned to WWE Survivor Series 2023.

CM Punk and Chicago go hand-in-hand. Chicago is not only CM Punk's hometown but also the sight of many of CM Punk's finest moments in the wrestling industry. One of CM Punk's most recent wrestling moments in Chicago came when he returned to WWE after nearly a decade away at the end of the 2023 WWE Survivor Series: WarGames.

Talking about the Chicago crowd during the Countdown to WWE Backlash France, CM Punk would say that he "selfishly" considers Chicago to be the best crowd and note that upon returning to WWE in November 2023, the crowd was so loud that he thought he was having a stroke because he couldn't hear anything but white noise.

"Selfishly, I have to say that Chicago is always the loudest place, but that goes back to me being a little kid and being fortunate enough to see hockey games in the old Chicago Stadium before they blew that up and turned it into a parking lot. Allstate Arena, when I came back at Survivor Series, I couldn't hear Living Color. I couldn't hear anything. It was white noise. I thought I was having a stroke. Turns out, I wasn't. It was just a really, really loud crowd that was happy to see me."

CM Punk is currently out of action with a tricep tear but that hasn't stopped him from being a menace in the life of Drew McIntyre.
