Arjan Bhullar Turned Down WWE Deal After Speaking To Jinder Mahal

Arjan Bhullar made his UFC debut earlier this year at UFC 215, defeating Luis Henrique by unanimous decision.

The UFC star initially had offers from both the MMA organization and the WWE to come work with them.

"We were in talks after the Olympics with both the UFC and WWE to figure out the next step career wise. The WWE wanted me to come down to the development centre in Florida and go through that,” Bhullar said to The Sun.

Bhullar would choose the UFC route and at UFC 215, became the first Indian born fighter to get a win in the promotion.

While Bhullar could’ve easily gone the WWE route, it was a conversation with former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal that put things into perspective for him.

"I actually reached out to Jinder and asked him about the schedule and what it would look like if I were to take that opportunity. I realized how crazy it is - they're never at home. I'm a pretty family-orientated guy and I still have that competitive edge as well. For those two reasons I was able to go the UFC route,” says Bhullar.

Mahal was also supposed to walk alongside Bhullar as he made his UFC debut at UFC 215, but Mahal was unable to attend the show due to a hurricane coming close to his home in Tampa, Florida.
