Colby Covington is coming off what arguably is the biggest win of his professional MMA career, as he defeated Dong Hyun Kim by decision at UFC Fight Night: Singapore.
With the win over Kim behind him, the welterweight star has now shifted his focus to UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley.
“I know Tyron Woodley got tired just watching us at home,” Covington said after the event. “Last time I trained with him, it wasn’t even competitive. He gets tired just watching this. I’ll break him in half.”
Kim was the first ranked opponent that Covington has defeated during his UFC tenure, which has lasted for eight fights thus far.
Covington would also like to continue what he has dubbed the “embarrassment tour” and Kim was just the first victim.
“I’m dominating these guys,” Covington said. “I just dominated the No. 7 guy in the world (in the official UFC rankings). No one has dominated him like that. This is officially the embarrassment tour. I embarrassed him in Asia tonight and I’m going to keep embarrassing the division. It doesn’t matter how I beat them, the way I’m beating them – this is easy money, bro.”
Woodley hasn’t competed since defeating Stephen Thompson at UFC 209, the champion recently challenged Demian Maia to a bout at UFC 214.
