UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor hasn’t been seen in the Octagon since a knockout victory over Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 to win the lightweight strap.
Since the title win, a transition to professional boxing would take place and McGregor would suffer a tenth round TKO loss to Floyd Mayweather this past August.
There hasn't been much talk about what the UFC Lightweight Title holder may do next, but the answer seems to lie in an MMA fight.
“A think a true fight is what I want to do next,” McGregor said to TMZ. “A real fight. What’s a real fight? …MMA next.”
McGregor had been rumored to be returning to the boxing ring, with both Manny Pacquiao and Oscar De La Hoya both saying they wanted to battle the UFC star.
The UFC Lightweight Champion has also been linked to pro wrestling in the past, but the fighter gave a pretty simple answer when asked if there may be a future in sports entertainment.
“F*ck WWE,” says McGregor.
It would seem like McGregor is going to be back in the ring at some point in the future, but an opponent and date have yet to be set for his return.
