Dan Hardy To Be A Part Of Sky Sports Broadcast Of Mayweather vs. McGregor

Former UFC Welterweight Title challenger Dan Hardy hasn’t been inside the Octagon for a few years now, but he has certainly kept busy outside of it.

The British sensation can now add the role of boxing analyst to his job titles because he has been tapped by Sky Sports as an analyst for the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor super fight.

Fellow UFC veteran Brendan Schaub has been holding a similar role for Showtime Sports, but Hardy says that Schaub hasn’t done his job properly.

“As much as I like Brendan Schaub, I’ll admit that I thought a lot of the stuff he was saying was hot air. There were a lot of superlatives and celebration. There was not a great deal of substance to his analysis. He didn’t tell me where Conor should put his feet, where he should hold his hands, what we should be looking out for, what Floyd is going to be looking to do against a southpaw that fights outside of his normal range … there wasn’t really any analysis. It was more yelling over each other,” Hardy said during a conference call.

It is unknown at this time how many other analyst and commentators are going to be a part of the broadcast for Sky Sports.

Despite his long absence from the sport of MMA and his ever growing role as an analyst, the fighter has been teasing a return to action in the last few months.

Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather takes place on Saturday, August 26 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
