One time UFC Welterweight Title challenger Dan Hardy has been medically cleared to return to action and the fighter has already entered the USADA testing pool.
Hardy revealed the news himself during a Q&A at the UFC Fight Night 109 festivities in Stockholm, Sweden.
"I'm probably only going to have one more fight. The truth is, I feel like I serve the sport better now as an analyst than I do as a fighter. It was fun, but it's very selfish for me to be a fighter. In my opinion, if the sport's going to continue to grow and if we're going to get rid of all the opposition towards mixed martial arts for the uneducated people, we need to educate them."
The British slugger hasn’t competed since defeating Amir Sadollah by decision at UFC On Fuel TV 5 in September 2012.
A condition known as Wolf’s Heart is what kept Hardy from competing, but now the doctors say that Hardy can compete with the condition.
An opponent has yet to be secured for Hardy, but he has been called out by fellow welterweight Mickey Gall, but Hardy promptly turned down that fight.
It was at UFC 111 where Hardy challenged then UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre for the gold, but he came up short via unanimous decision.
