Luke Gallows Shocked The Club Drafted Without AJ Styles

Despite shock, Luke Gallows says being drafted to Raw ended up being a positive.

On the night of the WWE Draft, The trio of Doc/Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, and AJ Styles were split up between two brands. AJ Styles went to Smackdown Live and The Club (Anderson and Gallows) went to Monday Night Raw. The three wrestlers couldn't believe they were being separated after a little more than three months on WWE television together. Doc Gallows talked with ESPN about the experience.

"Yeah it was a shock, for sure, But we definitely turned it into a positive. It's been a positive for A.J, as he won the (WWE) title at Backlash on Sunday. We're wrestling for the tag-team championships coming up at Clash of Champions. So I think it was a necessary evil, in a way. At first, we might not have looked at it so positive, but now we're all getting along, We talk to (Styles) every day. We text with him every day. The friendship's always gonna be there. That's something that will never be broken. This was just something for us career-wise I think had to happen" said Gallows.

Styles is tied to Smackdown as WWE Champion and The Club is in the middle of a feud over the tag-team titles. ESPN asked Gallows if in the future the three wrestlers could be back on the same show.

"We're very young in our new WWE careers, Creatively, there's definitely room for that to happen again, and I think and hope that it will," said Gallows.

The Brand Split is a new development in WWE. Between Heath Slater's free-agency and The Miz teasing a trade to Raw, the rosters seem fluid to a degree. Gallows' interview with ESPN  covers his past career in WWE and the talent around the world in his old stable The Bullet Club.

Clash of Champions is Sunday September 25th. The Club will challenge The New Day for the WWE Tag-Team Championship.
