Former UFC Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier went to war this past weekend at UFC 211.
Apparently the controversial finish in their fight wasn’t enough for either of them, as they went to war briefly on Twitter.
The whole thing started when Poirier went on social media to ask Alvarez if he wanted a rematch.
When you wanna do it @Ealvarezfight ?????

I owe you some stitches
This lead to a response from Alvarez, who claimed that Poirier was looking for a way out of the fight.
@DustinPoirier Next fight is You ... don't get too excited Your not the first guy to hurt me badly before I finished him ..knee or no knee U wanted out

To conclude the little social media eruption, the Louisiana native promised to get the finish the next time they collide.
Lol your silly. I'm gonna stop you next time. https://t.co/rI7Ij8fCuc

Poirier has filed an appeal to change the result of their first fight from a no contest to a disqualification win, a ruling on that appeal has yet to be made.
