While speaking to Fightful's James Lynch in an exclusive interview, Maryna Moroz (8-2) discusses her upcoming fight against Jamie Moyle (4-2) at UFC 220 on Jan 20. Maryna also talks about how she ended up training in Chicago, why she plans to move to the U.S. full time, learning English and why she hasn't fought since June.
Moroz is currently training in Chicago for UFC 220, which has seen the fighter improve her skills for battling inside of the Octagon.
“I trained in the Ukraine, I trained in Russia. I love Ukraine and the Russians, but in America, I have a world (class) sparring partner and I have a good coach. My coach is smart and experienced and has good strategy. I am learning a lot from my coaches and I feel my skills are getting much better,” says Moroz.
The female strawweight competitor is looking to get her first win in over a year, with the last victory coming against Danielle Taylor at UFC Fight Night 92.
Jamie Moyle is who’ll be facing Moroz at UFC 220, but Moroz feels her skills and game plan will get the win on January 20.
“(Jamie) Moyle is a very tough fighter, but I believe in my skills and I have a good game plan,” says Moroz.
UFC 220 takes place on Saturday, January 20 from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts with Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
