Daniel Lima is currently signed to a multi-fight deal with the Pancrase promotion in Japan and the fighter was involved in a scary situation at the weigh-ins for Pancrase 290.

At the weigh-ins, the fighter was so exhausted from the weight cut that he had to be dragged to the scale for his turn.

Prior to his fight, the Brazilian admitted to MMA Fighting that the issues with his weight cut were his fault.

"Since it was my first time outside of Brazil and I had no experience, I thought it would be easy,” Lima said. "It was tough, painful."

In that fight, the fighter wound up suffering a close decision loss to Daichi Kitakata at the event.

Lima isn’t happy with the defeat because he felt in the end that he did more than enough in the first two rounds to secure the win.

“They gave it to him,” he said shortly after the loss. "I was weak due to the extreme weight cut (at the weigh-ins), but I was really fine, 100 percent for the fight."

It should also be noted that Pancrase officials did offer to cancel the fight, but Lima opted to remain in the fight.
