Coach Firas Zahabi was in the corner of Georges St. Pierre for the majority of the fighter’s professional MMA career.

The coach believe that a potential bout between GSP and UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor would be the biggest fight in MMA history.

"I don’t think that’s crazy. I’ve been asking for that fight for over a year and a half now," Zahabi told Express Sport. "I don’t think it’s a crazy fight. I think it’s a brilliant fight. It would probably be the biggest fight in UFC history and MMA history. And that record wouldn’t be broken for ten years. So why not do it?”

GSP had been asked multiple times about a potential fight with McGregor, but the former two division champion always shot the bout down.

If the fight were to somehow come together, one thing that the coach would make GSP watch out for is McGregor’s punching power.

"He’s got the touch of death in his hands. He knows what he’s doing, he’s highly intelligent, highly captivated, he’s extremely dangerous,” Zahabi said. “And I don’t think he fears anybody.”

It could be a while before the potential fight comes together because GSP is currently out of action as he is battling ulcerative colitis.
