Floyd Mayweather To Conor McGregor Fans: “Believe In Conor"

Floyd Mayweather believes he is the A side to his upcoming clash against Conor McGregor, but Mayweather has a lot of respect for McGregor heading into this fight.

In an interview with BSOTV, Mayweather, nicknamed “Money,” did want to disclose any finances involved in making the fight happen, a sentiment echoed by UFC president Dana White in the first conference call on June 14 when the fight was made official.

“You know I’m the A side, but McGregor is a tough competitor,” Mayweather said. “People all over the world wanted this fight. I had to give the people what they want. They asked for this fight. They wanted me back. I can’t really disclose [the financials]. Both parties are very happy. [Conor McGregor] is happy. I’m very happy and I can’t wait.’

In a rare showing of humility and respect for his opponent, Mayweather had a message for all the MMA and Conor McGregor fans and that is to stand by the UFC lightweight champion.

“Believe in Conor, believe in your fighter. Stand by the fighter that you believe in and he’s a hell of a competitor,” Mayweather said.

Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on August 26 and will be broadcasted on Showtime pay-per-view. The fight will be contested at boxing’s light middleweight division. The short interview can be viewed in the video above.
