Kamaru Usman earned a knockout win over Brazilian fighter Sergio Moraes on the main card of UFC Fight Night Pittsburgh.
The fighter currently sits at #13 in the UFC and he isn’t happy with his position in the rankings or the rankings in general.
“Whoever is in charge of making those rankings, whoever it is – or whoever the collective group is that’s in charge of making those rankings – you should be ashamed of yourself,” Usman said after the event. “You should be. You had me at 13th; are you kidding me? I am a problem in the division. There is not one guy that wants to take this fight – not one. How many people do you know calling me out? There’s not one guy who wants this fight.”
During his post-fight speech, the welterweight contender challenged everybody ahead of him in the division to a fight, nobody has responded at this time.
Usman also knew he needed to make a splash against Moraes in order to make his point about his standing in the UFC.
“Tonight, I needed to make a statement,” Usman said. "I needed to put a stamp on this division and let them know that there’s not one guy who can hang in there with me.”
Thus far the welterweight star is a perfect six for six in the UFC, with four of those wins coming by way of decision.
