A welterweight division attraction has been added to UFC 247 as Alex Morono is going to be in action against Dhiego Lima.
The UFC Brasil Instagram page revealed the bout.
Morono (17-5-0-1NC) enters the contest while in the midst of a three fight winning streak, defeating the trio of Kenan Song, Zak Ottow and Max Griffin. Morono hasn’t suffered a defeat in over a year, with that last loss coming to Jordan Mein at UFC On Fox 30. Morono has suffered five losses as a professional MMA fighter and four of them came by way of decision.
Lima (15-7-0) also comes into the bout riding a three fight winning streak, defeating the three pack of Chad Laprise, Court McGee and Luke Jumeau. Lima was a finalists on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 25, but lost to Jesse Taylor in the finals of the reality show. Lima is also a former Titan FC Welterweight Champion, defeating David Michaud by unanimous decision at Titan FC 39 to claim the gold.
UFC 247 takes place on Saturday, February 8 from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas with Jon Jones and Dominick Reyes headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
