Alex Oliveira picked up a second round submission win over former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit in the co-main event of UFC on Fox 29.
With an eye towards the future of his MMA career, a victorious Oliveira has decided to leave Tata Fight Team to now train at ATS with coach Andre Tadeu.
“I left TFT, I’m only with ATS now, where I always trained and will always train,” Oliveira said to MMA Fighting. “My focus and training for my last fights was here at home. I want to thank everyone at TFT, no hard feelings, and wish everyone there good luck.”
No reason has been given by Oliveira as to why he decided to make the change in fight teams.
TFT head Tata Duarte also spoke to MMA Fighting about the move, which he says was made after some disagreements.
“Unfortunately, we were having disagreements with Andre, and now (Tadeu) doing [Oliveira’s training],” Duarte said. “I wish them the best. Life goes on.”
There is no word yet on when Oliveira is going to step into the Octagon next, but it will be his first full training camp and fight with TFT 100% at the Brazilian’s side.
