Anderson Silva will fight once again but this time in a boxing match with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Bellator 255 has a late addition to the card — Fightful has the latest fights announced from the combat sports news in one convenient article.
Anderson Silva vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Anderson Silva will make his return to boxing against Julio Cezar Chavez Jr. in what will be his third boxing bout. Silva (1-1) as a pro in boxing hasn't been seen since his loss to Uriah Hall that subsequently got him released by the UFC. Chavez Jr. (52-5-1) as a pro, is coming off a 4th round TKO victory over Jeyson Minda in November. The fight will take place on June 19th at the Jalisco Stadium in Guadalajara, Mexico, and will be available live on Pay-Per-View. This marks the latest chapter in the historic career of Silva and he is excited to get back to what he knows best.
"When I look back at my journey, I see that nothing has been in vain," Silva said to TMZ Sports "I am extremely happy for the opportunity to test my boxing skills with Julio César Chávez Jr. I train continuously, always striving for resilience and to overcome obstacles. Fighting is my everlasting breath."
Matt Mitrione replaced by Jack May at Bellator 255 vs. Tyrell Fortune
Matt Mitrione has been forced to withdraw from Bellator 255 and will now be replaced by Jack May (11-7), who will now face Tyrell Fortune (9-1). reports MMA Junkie. The pair have a previous, with Fortune fighting to a no-contest against May at Bellator 245 in September. The fight ended after Fortune landed multiple low blows and May could not continue.
Devin Haney vs. Jorge Linares
Devin Haney (25-0) will face-off against Jorge Linares (47-5) on May 29th at Michelo ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas, reports Keith Idec of Boxing Scene. The report states that "In accordance with the state of Nevada’s COVID-19 restrictions, Mandalay Bay's Michelob ULTRA Arena—formerly known as Mandalay Bay Events Center—will be limited to 50 percent of its full capacity of approximately 12,000 for the Haney-Linares card." Haney is undefeated and his bout with Linares will mark the emerging 135-pound champion’s first fight in Las Vegas since May 2016, when he was just 17.

Alessio Di Chirico vs. Roman Dolidze
BJPenn.com is reporting Alessio Di Chirico (13-5) and Roman Dolidze (8-1) have been added to the June 5th card in the UFC middleweight division. The Italian won his last fight in January when he knocked out Joaquin Buckley early in the first round with a head kick. Dolidze made his UFC debut at light-heavyweight, with a first-round knockout of Khadis Ibragimov. Despite winning his sophomore UFC fight vs. John Allan, the Georgian dropped to middleweight after and subsequently lost to Trevin Giles via decision.
Philip De Fries vs. Tomasz Narkun
KSW 60 will feature a huge rematch between heavyweight champion Philip De Fries and light heavyweight champion Tomasz Narkun at Wytwornia Club in Lodz, Poland, on April 24. De Fries and Narkun first fought at KSW 47 in March 2019 with de Vries winning via decision. Narkun has only lost to De Vries in his last 10 outings with KSW and bounced back from the loss with submission wins over Przemyslaw Mysiala and Ivan Erslan.

John Gotti III vs. Jared Chauvin
John Gotti III returns vs. Jared Chauvin at CES 62, the promotion announced Friday. The event takes place April 30 at Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida, and will stream on UFC Fight Pass. Gotti III lost his undefeated start as a pro when he lost a unanimous decision to Nick Alley in the main event of CES 61 in October. Gotti III, the grandson of mob boss John Gotti, won his first four fights via first-round KO and was tested for the first time by Marcos Lloreda at Cn route to a unanimous decision in January 2020. Chauvin is looking to halt a two-fight losing streak in his promotional debut.
