Anderson Silva Calls Demetrious Johnson The Greatest Of All Time

UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson earned a submission victory over Ray Borg in the co-main event of UFC 216. The win would help Johnson break the record for most consecutive title defenses in the UFC, a record previously held by former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva.

Silva has been considered by many to be the greatest MMA fighter of all time, but Silva claims that distinction should go to Johnson.

"Demetrious Johnson is the new champion. He's the best one," Silva said to TMZ Sports. "I have my passion about my sport and I love when people are talking about this, because Demetrious, people need to respect because he's a great fighter. I think Demetrious [is the greatest of all time].”

The former middleweight champion has fallen on hard times lately, awaiting to see what his punishment could be for a potential USADA violation in late 2017.

Johnson has also seen things take a slight turn for the worse in recent weeks, as the flyweight champion recently underwent shoulder surgery. Johnson’s next appearance in the Octagon could be a super fight with UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw, who has been calling the flyweight champion out for awhile now.
