Anderson Silva was released by the UFC a short time after suffering a loss to Uriah Hall in the main event of UFC Vegas 12.
Silva has now issued a statement on his UFC release through Instagram, while also revealing his desire to continue on as a professional MMA fighter:
The former middleweight champion won just one of his last nine in the UFC, with that lone win coming over Derek Brunson at UFC 208.
