Artem Lobov Says McGregor Wants Rematch With Mayweather

Artel Lobov battled fellow featherweight Andre Fili this Saturday at UFC Fight Night Gdansk.

The featherweight is also a training partner of UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and he claims that McGregor wants another shot against Floyd Mayweather.

“Of course [McGregor would want a rematch]. You’re talking about the most competitive man on the planet,” Lobov said to Express Sport. “Trust me, he wants that win and that win is very, very close. Minor adjustments need to be made but I feel that we can get the win if we did it for the second time.”

McGregor fought Mayweather this past August and he suffered a tenth round TKO loss, the bout served as the Irishman’s pro boxing debut.

Despite McGregor’s apparent need for a rematch, the longtime training partner wants to see him defend the UFC Lightweight Title next.

“I think I would like to see him defend the UFC lightweight belt,” Lobov said. “Tony Ferguson is a very tough fighter. He comes to fight. He is no p***y. He fought everyone in the UFC.”

UFC Fight Night Gdansk took place on Saturday, October 21 from the Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland with Donald Cerrone and Darren Till headlining.
