Asuka's legendary reign as NXT Women's Champion has reached an end.

At Thursday night's NXT television tapings, Asuka vacated the NXT Women's Championship after a 511 day run with the title. Since defeating Bayley at NXT Takeover: Dallas, she's went on to break several records, including Goldberg's undefeated streak, and Rockin' Robin's modern day women's title reign length.

The NXT locker room gathered on the stage as the announcement was made. Despite recent news that Asuka had sustained a collarbone injury, she appeared without a sling at the event, just days after defeating Ember Moon in a title defense at NXT Takeover Brooklyn III.

During the announcement, William Regal stated that he had started negotiations to send Asuka to Raw and Smackdown. As mentioned on the Fightful Podcast, when Asuka was originally signed, there weren't plans to bring her up. Triple H also appeared and presented Asuka with flowers. The entire segment was preceded by an Asuka video package.
