Askren became the Bellator MMA Welterweight Champion by defeating Lyman Good at Bellator 33, but would relinquish the title after a defense at Bellator 97. Askren would move onto fighting for the One Championships promotion, capturing their welterweight title before retiring last year.
MacDonald won the Bellator MMA Welterweight Title by defeating Douglas Lima at Bellator 192, but has yet to defend the gold.
