Newly crowned interim UFC flyweight champion, Brandon Moreno is ready to put a finality to his rivalry with current flyweight champ, Deiveson Figueiredo.
Moreno spoke with the media at the UFC 277 post-fight press conference following his third-round TKO win over Kai Kara-France in Saturday night's co-headliner and explained why he wants to get a fourth meeting with Figueiredo done by the end of the year, so the Mexican star can finally move on to other challenges.
“It’s not like, ‘Oh, I want to fight against Deiveson Figueiredo again,'” Moreno said (h/t MMA Junkie). “I’m not excited. I’m done with him. But it is what it is. He’s the champion, so I want to fight against him. So I promise I just want to finish my business with him and then the next challenger, I’ll be ready for him. I don’t care – we can go wherever. We can go to Brazil. The problem is, he said he’d be ready for the winter, for December, and the last pay-per-view of the year is normally in Vegas. So we’ll see what happens in the future. I just want to fight before the end of the year. I’ve just been waiting for him for a long time.”
