UFC featherweight contenders, Brian Ortega and Yair Rodríguez are set to clash at a yet-to-be-announced UFC Fight Night event on July 16.
ESPN's Carlos Contreras Legaspi was the first to report the news of the matchup being in the works, although the promotion has yet to officially confirm anything regarding the event or booking. Ortega is 1-2 in his last three Octagon outings and is coming off of a unanimous decision loss to reigning UFC featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski, at UFC 266. Rodríguez on the other hand is 2-1-1 in his last four fights and will look to rebound from a unanimous decision defeat to former UFC featherweight champ, Max Holloway, at UFC Vegas 42.
