Brock Lesnar Informs UFC And USADA Of Retirement, Additional Details

Brock Lesnar has retired from the UFC for the second time, per MMA Fighting.

The former WWE, NCAA, UFC and IWGP Champion Brock Lesnar has informed both the UFC and United States Anti-Doping Agency that he has opted to retire, effectively removing him from the USADA testing pool. Lesnar last fought at UFC 200, where he defeated Mark Hunt in a fight that was later overturned to a no-contest following a series of failed drug tests for clomiphene.

Since the fight, Brock Lesnar returned to WWE where he defeated Randy Orton in violent fashion at Summerslam, before being dominated by longtime rival Bill Goldberg at both Survivor Series and Royal Rumble. Lesnar will face off with Goldberg again at WrestleMania 33 in April.

Lesnar was fined $250,000 for his aforementioned failed tests, and banned from competition for a year by the Nevada Athletic Commission. Lesnar denied knowingly ingesting any banned substances.

While Lesnar has withdrawn from the USADA pool, Fightful has told he won't be eligible to sign elsewhere. The UFC pulled Lesnar from their UFC roster last week, after he informed them of his decision. Lesnar's contract with WWE is up following WrestleMania 34. Fightful has reached out to WWE officials for comment.

We're also told that Lesnar hasn't been tested by USADA in the last five months.
