Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell has been teasing a potential return to action after a five year absence.
Chael Sonnen has stated in the past that he wouldn’t mind welcoming Liddell back to action, but Liddell says a bout with Sonnen would be an easy one.
“Chael’s the easy fight,” Liddell said to TMZ. “If I was going to come back, it’s a good one. It’s a good warmup fight. He talks a lot. I think that’s why he does all that WWE style.”
Sonnen has already fought twice during his Bellator MMA tenure, dropping a bout to Tito Ortiz at Bellator 170 and defeating Wanderlei Silva at Bellator 180.
Upon hearing what Liddell said about him, the fighter took to Twitter to issue a brief response:

Liddell last competed at UFC 115 in 2010, where he suffered a first round knockout loss to former UFC Middleweight Champion Rich Franklin.
The longtime UFC fighter was cut from his behind the scenes job with the UFC when WME-IMG took over and he is a free agent now who can fight wherever he wants if he does choose to return.
