UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Colby Covington appeared on the UFC 225 post-fight show on Fox Sports 1, but would get into a heated exchange with analyst and former UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bipsing.
Covington feels disrespected by the whole situation, which has lead him to blast both Fox and the former middleweight champion.
“That’s probably why that fake FOX News is going under and it’s getting transferred to ESPN,” Covington told MMA Junkie Radio. “That little one-eyed twerp should have realized what happen the last time he messed with the red, white and blue: The American forefather Dan Henderson left him unconscious.”
Jon Anik, who was providing color commentary during the UFC 225 broadcast, would take to Twitter after hearing about the whole situation and he would put Bisping on notice for his role in the heated exchange.
Was disgraceful. It’s Colby’s night and moment. Pretty stunning that they’d allow an analyst to steal his shine.

Not sarcastic at all. I was appalled. Not the analyst’s job to antagonize a fighter who has just won a UFC title.

Respectfully disagree. Colby’s opening comment had levity... ‘all my haters in one place, etc.’ and Mike called him a prick right outta the shoot. Absolutely love @bisping and he knows it. Just calling this one like I see it. Enjoy your Sunday.

Anik would have a couple of days to think about what he tweeted and would then take ton Instagram to issue an apology to Bisping:
There has been no comment from Bisping since the whole situation went down, but he will appear at the commentary desk for Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 9.
