Conor McGregor Tweets Trilogy Bout With Dustin Poirier At UFC 264 Is Off

UFC lightweight contenders Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier engaged in a war of words on Twitter ahead of their trilogy matchup at UFC 264 on July 10.

The exchange began between the two rivals when McGregor sent a tweet out on April 5 talking about going back to his old approach and training regime for the fight. Poirier responded with the simple request of telling the Irishman to meet him in the center of the Octagon at UFC 264, McGregor once again responded with a tweet accusing Poirier of shooting in during the opening 30 seconds of their rematch at UFC 257. After this, the tone of the exchange between the two changed from competitive banter to a bit personal when Poirier responded with the following tweet claiming that McGregor has yet to pay and donate the $500,000 he said he would to the Lousiana native's charity The Good Fight Foundation ahead of their UFC 257 fight.

McGregor did not take kindly to this at all, responding with a series of fiery tweets insulting Poirier and saying that their scheduled trilogy showdown for UFC 264 on July 10 is now off.

Poirier seemed unphased by the insults or the Irish superstar claiming their fight on July 10 is now off, again responding with a simple Ok and video clip of his knockout win over McGregor at UFC 257 in the following tweet.
