Since moving to Light Heavyweight, Anthony Smith has won four of his five UFC outings. However, not everyone is convinced.
After defeating Alexander Gustafsson in Stockholm, Smith dismissed talk from Corey Anderson and Luke Rockhold, telling them to "do something to earn it." A week later and Anderson has responded, posting a thread on Twitter and critiquing Smith's contender credentials.
I come back from vacay to this?"Allow me to retort" @lionheartasmith unlike your buddy @LukeRockhold I've been doing stuff in THIS DIVISION since I signed in 14'. 14 fights 12 of which were ranked 9 of which I DOMINATED. 1 notable win and you talkin? #bitchheart #ufc238 #fightme https://t.co/wL4xCC7Gon

3 of your 4 wins weren't even relevant. You were just a "pretty face" (so to say) for them to put some hype behind so they could feed you to Jones and he could put you on his lap and spank you like a 3 y/o child. LIONHEART?! You literally sat on the canvas in a fetal position and

On the ground. But WE both know, you aren't taking me down, you can't deal with my movement, and you KNOW 100% I'm not gonna gas. Soo? So all in all I DONT TALK SHIT.. I STATE FACTS. Don't speak my name unless you signing on the dotted line. #ufc #ufc238 #earnedit #boutthatlife

While Anderson's perspective on Smith is debatable, his own resume is not. Currently 8th in the UFC Light Heavyweight standings, Anderson is riding a three fight win streak, outpointing Ilir Latifi, Glover Teixeira and Patrick Cummins respectively. Anderson entered the octagon as a 3-0 prospect but became an Ultimate Fighter winner and has since firmly established himself as a ranked contender in the 205 pound landscape.
He'll have to wait a while for a potential fight with Smith though, as 'Lionheart' broke his hand opposite Gustafsson and expressed a desire to take a break from the fight Cgame. Nonetheless, Anderson's stock will only continue to rise if he remains in the win column.
