Corey Anderson Wants Jon Jones’ Head On A Platter

Corey Anderson is ranked #7 in the UFC Light Heavyweight Division and is a top contender for Jon Jones’ UFC Light Heavyweight Championship.

For Anderson, winning the UFC Light Heavyweight Title may not be enough, as he also wants Jones’ head on a platter.

“All that GOAT talk, you soft like baby (expletive),” Anderson said to TMZ Sports (via Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie). “I didn’t even say nothing to you and you got in your feelings? Then all night, everything I posted on my story, on my Twitter, he was responding, he was tweeting me, he was commenting like, ‘Yo, I got in your feelings that much that you on my page checking everything that I post now?’ As where we stand right now, same place we stood in December. I want that belt and I want his head on a platter.”

Jones and Anderson did have a verbal confrontation at an iPlay America last month, but nothing physical took place between them.

Anderson has a bout lined up with Johnny Walker next at UFC 244, but Anderson believes a victory over Walker would give him a shot at the UFC Light Heavyweight Title.

“He’s just a hype train,” Anderson said. “Same buzz they had for Tyson Pedro when he came in. He was the same way – everybody buzzed he was going to be the next one. Going out getting these fast finishes against nobodies and once they go against an elite guy, they get shut down. Hey Jon, like the rest of your team, keep watching my page, keep watching my moves. Don’t watch TV, watch me. I’m going to give you a show and then I’m going to put on a show on you. Let’s do it after this fight. Whenever you want it.”

UFC 244 takes place on Saturday, November 2 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
