Dan Hardy Has Submitted UFC Request To Fight Matt Brown

Dan Hardy says he has officially submitted a request to fight in the UFC — and Matt Brown is on the top of the list.

Hardy has toyed with a return to the Octagon for quite a while now. One name suggested is Matt Brown. "The Immortal" Brown tweeted on Friday that he is skeptical about a return to active competition for the successful UFC analyst. Hardy (25-10) raised the stakes, informing Brown that he had sent an official fight request with two potential opponents. The name on the top of that list?

"I’m not going to post up my message to the UFC, but rest assured [Matt Brown], it’s been sent. There were two names in the message, and the first one was yours," Hardy wrote. "This fight deserves to be in front of a London crowd. It will take the roof off."

Hardy has not competed professionally since consecutive wins over Duane Ludwig and Amir Sadollah in May 2012 and September 2012, respectively. It was a return to form for Hardy after four consecutive losses to Georges St-Pierre, Carlos Condit, Anthony Johnson and Chris Lytle, the first of those four being a UFC welterweight title fight.

Brown and Hardy were actually scheduled to fight on April 20, 2013; however, the fight never materialized.
