Dana White & Nate Diaz Have Awkward Encounter After UFC Phoenix

MMA

UFC President Dana White and Nate Diaz were both in attendance at UFC Fight Night Phoenix, with Diaz serving as a cornerman for the debuting Kron Gracie.

The two have had quite a contemptuous relationship over the years, which is why a recent backstage meeting between the two could be described as awkward at best.

A video of the two meeting up was posted on Twitter by the UFC:

Megan Olivi, who was interviewing White at the time of the meeting, did manage to get the following comments from Diaz on a potential return (via MMA Junkie):

“Nate, are we gonna see you soon, or what?” she asked.

“Yeah, we’re coming,” Diaz replied.

Olivi would also ask White about a potential Diaz comeback, which didn’t look like a possibility according to the UFC President (via MMA Junkie):

“You think we see Nate Diaz in the octagon soon?” she asked.

“No,” White replied.

Diaz was last seen in action in the main event of UFC 202, suffering a decision loss to former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor. Diaz was expected to return late last year at UFC 230, but opponent Dustin Poirier suffered an injury and that bout was called off.
