Dana White Not Interested In Rose Namajunas-Carla Esparza Trilogy Following UFC 274: "We'll Have To Figure Something Else Out"

UFC President Dana White doesn't have any interest in booking a trilogy bout between new strawweight champion, Carla Esparza, and former champ, Rose Namajunas, following their lackluster rematch on Saturday night.

White spoke with the media at the UFC 274 post-fight press conference and gave his thoughts on this weekend's co-headliner, as well as explained why the promotion will look to target the winner of the upcoming rematch between former UFC strawweight champs, Zhang Weili and Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 275 next month as Esparza's first title challenger, instead of Namajunas.

“That was a weird fight,” White said (h/t MMA Fighting). “It seemed like they didn’t want to engage. I think there was a total of six punches thrown in the first round. That’s a tough one. It happens sometimes. I don’t even know. I started zoning out like halfway through it. I don’t know. I don’t think anyone is clamoring for that rematch. We’ll have to figure something else out. Rose is one of the best, she’s always going to be there. We’ll see what happens. You’ve got [Zhang] Weili and Joanna [Jedrzejczyk], so when that fight happens. 100-percent [that’s a No. 1 contender’s fight].”
