Dana White didn't celebrate how you would have expected him to following the UFC sale.
The UFC President, who made well over $300 million off of the company sale while retaining shares, spoke to Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week, and said that the deal with new owners WME-IMG 'freaked him out.'
"I can tell you this, this is the honest to god truth. When this deal closed, it bugged me out a little bit. I don't know. When you make that kind of money and my partners, I've been with them for more than 20 years. So that's going to change, I have new partners now. And yeah, I kind of Howard Hughes'd myself up into a hotel room for a couple of days. I didn't eat or sleep, it kind of freaked me out a little bit,” White said, later confirming that everyone is asking him for money now.
Kimmel pressed White for information, asking if he got the money all at once, or if it would arrive in smaller installments.
“When you do a deal like this, it has to go through a bunch of regulation. Once the regulation is done and the thing finally closes, I guess you just get a check "That's how it works,” White said. “I don't know what else I need.”
White, who recently spoke at the Republican National Convention, will remain with the UFC as company President.
