Following the removal of Todd Duffee from the UFC 209 card due to an undisclosed injury, Daniel Spitz has agreed to step in on short notice against Mark Godbeer.

Godbeer (11-3-0) is currently winless under the UFC banner, having dropped a fight to Justin Ledet at UFC Fight Night 99. Godbeer has only fought for one time in his professional career, which was a loss to Anthony Taylor for the Supremacy Fighting Challenge Heavyweight Title. Godbeer started off his professional MMA career on a seven fight undefeated streak, one that lasted over two years.

Spitz (5-0-0) will be making his UFC debut in this fight and does so with a five fight undefeated streak that has lasted well over a year. Spitz has fought one UFC veteran in his young MMA career, as he defeated Wesley Correira by unanimous decision at an April 2016 RWE Just Scrap MMA event. Spitz has seen four of his five professional MMA fights end within the opening round, with three of those fights ending by way of submission.

UFC 209 takes place on Saturday, March 4 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson headlining.
