The UFC is losing another important cog in their machine.
UFC senior vice president of public relations and athlete marketing and development Dave Sholler will depart the UFC for a job with the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers. Both Sholler and Dana White confirmed the news on Wednesday night.
Sholler announced that his last event would be November's UFC 205 before moving on to his new NBA gig.
Sholler has been with the UFC since 2010, following the merger with World Extreme Cagefighting. Sholler had worked as a public relations executive for WEC. Later on, Sholler would host many UFC press conferences.
Sholler is perhaps best known to casual fans for being in between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier during their infamous brawl, which led to the press conference backdrop falling down.
This is the latest exit from the UFC after the company was sold for $4.2 billion to WME-IMG this summer. Matchmaker Joe Silva will be leaving at the end of the year, while former CEO Lorenzo Fertitta also left the company.
