MMA

A hit has been taken by the UFC Fight Night Liverpool card as a bout between Davey Grant and Manny Bermudez is off the event according to MMA NYTT.

The bout was pulled because Grant has suffered a staph infection and with no time for UFC officials to find a suitable replacement, it was decided that Bermudez wouldn’t compete as well.

Replacing the fight on the main card is going to be a welterweight division attraction between Nordine Taleb and Claudio Henrique Da Silva, which was originally set for the Fox Sports 1 portion of the preliminary card.

Also, a bout between Lina Lansberg and Gina Mazany has been moved from the UFC Fight Pass portion of the preliminary card to the Fox Sports 1 portion of that card.

Due to the changes to the card, a later bell time has been ordered as the action will now kick off at 10:30am EST. Instead of 10am EST.

There is no word yet on how long Grant is expected to be out of action, plus it has also yet to be revealed as to whether or not the fighters will get matched up again or if they will go their separate ways.
