Donald Cerrone Predicts 2nd Round Finish Of Conor McGregor, Says Bout Is For Interim Title

Former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor and Donald Cerrone are potentially set to clash sometime this Summer.

“Cowboy” is predicting that if they do meet inside of the Octagon, it will end with a second round knockout victory.

“I’m just going to go out there and fight my ass off,” Cerrone said at a UFC fan Q&A in Australia (via MMA Junkie). “I really am. Definitely the standup – I’m going to stand and fight him. I’m not going to try to wrestle him, I’m going to (expletive) stand and give you all what you want to see. (My prediction is a) second-round head kick (knockout).”

To make things even better for the potential fight, it would appear that Cerrone versus McGregor may be for the vacant UFC Interim Lightweight Championship.

Cerrone teased that via Instagram:

Khabib Nurmagomedov is the current UFC Lightweight Champion, but is also serving a nine month suspension for his role in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl. Nurmagomedov did predict that an interim title would be created during his absence, but thought it would be Tony Ferguson and Dustin Poirier in that bout.

There has been no word from the UFC yet as to whether an interim title is going to be on the line for the potential Cerrone versus McGregor bout.
