Ruth (3-0-0) has spent his entire professional MMA career in the Bellator MMA promotion, defeating the trio of Dustin Collins-Miles, Emanuele Palombi and David Mundell. Ruth never competed as an amateur MMA fighter, which means his only fighting experience comes as a pro. Ruth has a lot of amateur wrestling experience and he was a three time NCAA wrestling champion.

Dempsey (11-5-0) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and he does so while riding a three fight losing streak. Dempsey won just one of four fights during his UFC tenure, with that lone win coming over Eddie Gordon at UFC On Fox 15. Dempsey hasn’t earned a victory in well over two years, with his last win coming over the aforementioned Gordon coming in April of 2015.

Bellator 186 takes place on Friday, November 3 from the Bryce Jordan Center in University Park, Pennsylvania with Ryan Bader and Linton Vassell headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Spike TV.
