Elias Theodorou and his flowing locks are never one to shy away from a challenge.
The UFC middleweight recently challenged both Dan Kelly and Rashad Evans, but it doesn't look like the UFC is going to give the TUF champion what he wants in fights with either man. Instead, a rare "gimmick match" could be on the table for Theodorou
"As the Rolling Stones said, 'You don't always get what you want, but sometimes you get what you need.' Brad Tavares looks like he's more than game, and I'm looking forward to giving him another loss," Theodorou said on his Tuesday podcast at Fightful.com
Tavares took to Twitter last weekend to challenge Theodorou to a hair match. Tavares, not known for his mane, offered to put Theodorou up for a week in Las Vegas if the Canadian could defeat him. However, if Tavares wins, Theododou would have to shave his Pert-Plus sponsored head.
"Yeah, well my hair is worth more than a stay in Vegas. He's going to have to up his side up the bargain for me to bite on that in any shape or form. Basically, his whole purse," said Theodorou.
Theodorou went on to point out that Tavares has "crumbled" in previous fights. Theodorou is riding a two fight winning streak, and is now 5-1 in the UFC. Theodorou also noted that Vitor Belfort asked to fight him, but he wasn't willing to wait for the recently-KO'd former UFC champion to heal up.
"He'd be a great opponent, too. He has that minute of danger, then the 50-year old surfer falls apart," said Theodorou.
You can see Theodorou each Tuesday on the Fightful.com Podcast with host "Showdown" Joe Ferraro"
