A welterweight title unification bout between WBC and IBF champion, Errol Spence Jr., and WBA champ Yordenis Ugás is expected to take place in April at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The Dallas Morning News' Calvin Watkins was the first to report the news of the matchup being in the works, but nothing has been officially announced or signed yet regarding the booking. Spence Jr. will make his return to the ring after recovering from surgery to repair a retinal tear in his left eye back in August 2021. He's 27-0 as a pro currently and is coming off of a unanimous decision victory over Danny Garcia back in December 2020. Ugás meanwhile is 27-4 overall as a pro and will try to build off of his unanimous decision win over former eight-division world champion, Manny Pacquiao, last August after the 35-year old Cuban champ filled in for Spence Jr. as a late replacement opponent.
