EXCLUSIVE: Hurricane Helms Talks Brock Lesnar's UFC Retirement

Shane Helms says Lesnar versus Emelianenko would be huge.

Brock Lesnar recently announced his retirement from UFC. He is currently serving a suspension from the Nevada Athletic Commission which keeps him from competing in the United States; However when his suspension is over, he will be free to fight in other mixed-martial-arts promotions. On his weekly appearance on Fightful Wrestling's podcast, Helms was asked his thoughts on a match up between Lesnar and Bellator heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko., including how he sees the potential fight going.

Deontay Wilder On Potential Fight With Francis Ngannou: That’s A Conversation That I’m Still Looking To Have

"That would be their biggest fight of all time," said Helms "I think Brock would bum rush the shit out of him. I think you can tell by his fight with Mark Hunt he got out of that trying to trade hands with better strikers phase. Just going to take him down, do what you do, that would be his best shot. And just hope one of those crazy Fedor haymakers doesn't land," added Helms.

Lesnar's last fight was at UFC 200 against Mark Hunt, afterwards it was revealed he failed multiple drug screenings. He was suspended a year and fined $250,000. His opponent, Hunt was very upset and felt wronged by being put in the cage with an opponent  who took banned substances. Helms says he knew Lesnar was done with UFC  after his fight with Hunt.

"I thought after the last time he got popped, that would probably be it. He made a huge pay day, he got what he wanted out of it,UFC got what they wanted out of it. The only one that didn't get what they wanted out of it was Mark Hunt. If (Lesnar) has  his WWE stuff going on, if he can go to Bellator and make money that way, more power to him," said Helms.

Currently Lesnar is scheduled to appear at Wrestlemania 33 in a match against Bill Goldberg.  Helms would also discuss the possibility of Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar having an mixed-martial-arts fight in Bellator. Helms and Fightful podcast host Sean Ross Sapp would spend the rest of the episode detailing Helms' experience as a wrestling promoter.
