Frank Trigg does not think he could handle negotiating with Dana White.
On Fightful MMA's Frank Trigg podcast, Frank Trigg spent some time talking about White. During this time, podcast host "Showdown Joe" Ferraro asked Trigg if he had any stories about contract negotiation with White. Trigg had two stints in UFC. He said he did not get the chance to negotiate much but has heard about White's ferocity.
"I didn't need a manager at that point. Sean Shelby said 'This is the money we got, we can't give any more, take it our leave it.' So, there wasn't any negotiation. I didn't have any power to negotiate," said Trigg. "But I understand (White) is a fierce negotiator, when it comes down to it. Which is why it's taking so long for the McGregor-Mayweather fight to get together. Because he technically 'owns' McGregor. So, he has to work out the deal. 'How much of what you make over in this boxing match is the UFC actually going to take?' Which is why when Mayweather came out a little while ago and said he was going to take eighty percent and Dana went nuts publicly. He's a fierce negotiator I've heard, I'm glad I never had to negotiate my contracts with him, because I don't know if I could do it," he continued.
He also shared a story of hearing White screaming at a manager backstage at a UFC event. Also during the podcast which aired on April 20th, Trigg discussed his recent decision to use Cannabis-based products as pain management.
Trigg appears Thursdays on Fightful MMA's podcast with host "Showdown Joe" Ferraro.
