Jose "Shorty" Torres has established himself not only as a contender for a UFC contract, but perhaps for a high level fight in either the Flyweight or the Bantamweight divisions.

Torres successfully defended his Titan FC Flyweight Championship at Titan FC 48 Friday night over Alberto Orellano with a quick first round stoppage just months after defending his Bantamweight title in the same promotion. When speaking to Fightful.com's Showdown Joe Ferraro, Torres said he's ready for the UFC.

"He was definitely underdog, but the number 2, 3, 4 guy wouldn't take the fight. Do I believe he was at my level? No, and I was able to show that today. I'm ready for the next level -- UFC Chicago. I always start slow and wanted to get the finish in the first round the last two fights, but I haven't been injury free. I've had to deny the UFC a couple of times. I wanted to be injury free and keep the fight standing. I knock out every Flyweight I face. I'm not ready for a call, I'm ready for a contract. I put in my work, it's time for them to do theirs," said Torres.

The Chicago show Torres is targeting is UFC 225, which is set for June 9.
