“I am really happy with my performance in the fight, with my mental state going in. It was, for a lack of a better word, it was like being in the matrix. Everything was in slow motion and as soon as he threw the very first jab, I was like ‘I got him.’ My mind was just in a breakdown, the way it dilated. I felt really happy with that, there is a lot of stuff to fix technically. I felt like I fought to the best of my abilities that day and that’s what its all about,” says Katona in an exclusive interview with Fightful's James Lynch.

Katona now moves onto the quarterfinals of the reality show, but an opponent is not known at this time.

If there is somebody out there that Katona resembles, it is Superman’s alter ego Clark Kent and he is happy the reality show ran with that concept.

“You know, the thing that made me really happy about how they portrayed me is that its kind of just me. I feel like that’s who I am, how they cut the promos and everything…it makes my job easy because I don’t need to put on some fake character and walk to an interview. To me, its just me on a good day…wake up, well rested, have a cup of coffee and then there I am. That’s how easy it is to get into the new Clark Kent character, so its really just me and that’s what I am happy about. One thing going into that show is I just wanted to be myself and hopefully people would enjoy what I have to say, if they don’t…they don’t. I can always go back and change it, but I’m really happy that it took on quite well,” says Katona.

UFC Ultimate Fighter 27 airs every Wednesday on Fox Sports 1, with the finale set for Friday, July 6.
