UFC Veteran Says Strikeforce Star Gina Carano Is The Best Fight For Ronda Rousey

MMA

Ronda Rousey has long been a pay-per-view star for the UFC. Prior to 2016, the company was able to count on her for three years as a marquee name for their big events.

After back-to-back losses to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes respectively, the former UFC Bantamweight Champion Rousey has come out of her shell a bit more. She has been filming for the show Blind Spot on NBC, and many think she's teasing another fight via an Instagram post that says "a ship in the harbor is safe, but that's not what ships are for."

On Wednesday's Fightful MMA Podcast, UFC veteran Sean Pierson isn't convinced Rousey will return.

"Who's she gonna fight?," Pierson asked. "It's not like she necessarily wins (top) fights, but anyone outside of the top, I think she murders. The UFC can't pay her like they pay her to face schleps. Headline this show, beat this girl in 15 seconds, here's a million bucks. They've done it a couple of times in the past. Bring back Gina Carano. There's a fight for her. Retired, pretty girl faces Ronda."

Carano teased a potential return in recent years after not having fought since 2009. Ultimately, a deal couldn't be put together and Carano has continued acting. She's appeared in the likes of "Kickboxer," "Deadpool," 'Fast & Furious 6," and other films.

Rousey has had several acting projects canceled or put on hold.
